Greetings from the Mondosphere

It seems like an epoch since you last heard from Mondo but fear not, he is alive and well and thriving in alternative dimensions where rehearsal space is plentiful and guitars possess wondrous powers.

Lately I've enjoyed jamming in the Caledon Astrotorium in Caledon Eyre where I'm reworking ideas for my longtime endeavor "Precession of the Equinoxes," a major song cycle, concept album and possible game franchise.

So what else is new? Well, passing time unencumbered by Newtonian physics did indeed whet my appetite for alternatives to today's formulae of throwaway music-- so much so that I accepted an invitation to participate in a performance art installation entitled "Speaker Project" by Chicago-based artist Juan Angel Chávez, which will run at the MassArt’s Stephen D. Paine Gallery from September 22 — November 22, 2008 with a special interactive one-night only appearance by Mondo on October 23 at 6:00pm.

It should be a most rare and excellent jam session wherein we'll see how an old art rocker fares when stretched over a new and different frame. In addition, I'll perform an acoustic set of those favourite old rock 'n roll obscurities, each of which should tell at least a thousand words, especially as the speaker in this project is very large.

Be Seeing You!
